The Real World Philadelphia’s presence in Old City is helping local restaurateurs, both near the house and near U. Penn’s campus. One restaurant owner tells the Daily Pennsylvanian the cast’s visit was eventless, and says they’ve “definitely seen an increase in business” because of the show. Another restaurant manager concurs: “They were wonderful to have in the restaurant. They were a nice group of people.” However, another restaurateur told the Philadelphia Inquirer that the presence of show fans on weekends is problematic: “Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, from 7:30 until 2 in the morning, it’s absolute bedlam down here,” Tony Rodgers says.
