While uniformed officers protect The Real World Philadelphia house on weekends, plainclothes cops have been assigned to accompany them to clubs and other public places. That’s primarily because of “over-eager public participation beyond the norm from previous seasons,” the Daily Pennsylvanian reports. A city employee told the paper, “Plainclothesmen go with the cast when they go out clubbing, and a marked unit sits across the street from the house on weekends. They’re not really needed on the weekdays, as that hasn’t been a problem.” Security is apparently not completely tight, though, as a Philadelphia Weekly writer’s friend found herself at the house and just opened the door and walked inside. She took pictures, which the paper has published.
