Jersey Shore creator was a finalist for Real World Miami’s cast

SallyAnn Salsano, the woman who created Jersey Shore (and HGTV’s Design Star, among other series), was a finalist to be a cast member on The Real World Miami in 1996.

Yes, SA, as she calls herself, might have been working on the business (Delicious Deliveries!) with Dan, Melissa, Joe, Flora, Sarah, Mike, and Cynthia, minus one of them.

She revealed that during an interview that resulted in this Daily Beast profile, in which she tells me, “I was Snooki” and said that she’d be a cast member if she wasn’t producing it, because she is “a huge fan of reality TV. There’s not a show that I don’t watch. I don’t watch it for research, so I can see what the competitors are doing. You know what? I fucking love every second of it.”

Whatever you think of Jersey Shore, it’s unquestionably been a huge success, and she explains why that is in the full interview, and the answer, like its success, is surprising.
