ArchivesThe business started by the cast of The Real World Key West has closed its doors. This is shocking news, since the last time The Real World came to Florida, for the Miami season, the whole starting-a-business thing was a smashing success.
The cast opened Mystic Tan, a spray tan business, which seemed like a perfect fit for Key West and its lack of natural ways to get a tan. Production on the show ended in mid-December as the cast vacated the city, and the building where the business was located was also vacated.
According to the Key West Chronicle, “The whole tanning business is gone…not a trace of it left.” The site offers “photos of the now empty building” and notes that “[m]any locals shrugged at the idea of needing a tanning business this far south into the Sunshine State. And from the looks of things, they had very few people through the door.”
