Real World threatens to leave Key West

If The Real World Key West is forced to vacate its current location as a result of current legal action, the show will leave the Key West area altogether.

In court yesterday, producer Ted Keeney said, “The show would be done if we had to find a new place. There is not enough property in Key West to do what we do.”

The show’s attorney “argued they did not want the location of the home publicized, and the exact location wasn’t made public until the Swifts listed it in their lawsuit,” according to the Key West Citizen. The show’s next-door neighbors, “The Swifts[,] claim the producers are running a business in an area that is zoned residential.” But producer James Johnston said they are “shooting a documentary.”

The two sides will be back in court for a third hearing next week.
