The Real World Chicago gets a taste of Seattle’s Real World protests.
“[A]n underground cabal of artists pulled off a little prank” at the The Real World Chicago house on Saturday. Between 200 and 300 people showed up at the house, responding to a fake open casting call for extras distributed via postcards. They banged drums, chanted “We’re real, you’re not,” and threw bottles at the building. One cast member was reportedly hit by a shower of paper. Greg Gillam’s detailed report at fengi.com about the protest and the casts’ and crews’ troubles comments on “the stupidity of their location choice” and other factors contributing to the animosity that has met the production—similar to what happened in Seattle and in other cities.
