Real World has its highest-rated episode in three years thanks to Dustin Zito’s story
The Real World Las Vegas 2’s episode last night was the highest-rated episode the series has had in three years, thanks to the drama surrounding Dustin Zito’s past work in gay porn. And the drama isn’t over: MTV says that on next week’s episode, “the aftermath of Dustin’s Frat Pad scandal sends Heather into Nany’s arms.”
In a press release, the network said the show “[averaged] over 2.5 million total viewers” and “was #1 in its time period across all TV among P12-34, which marked the franchise’s best delivery in over two years in the demo.” Yes, that’s people 12 to 34, the show’s target demographic, who helped crash reality blurred last night by searching for details about Dustin’s work.
Some context: While that’s a good number for the first-ever reality show, Jersey Shore’s finale had 7.6 million viewers, so it’s not quite a resurgence. But we can reasonably expect next season to be set in the San Fernando Valley.
