The Real World Hollywood

Real World wants “cast members with career and life goals” for 20th season

Bunim-Murray is currently casting for the 20th season of The Real World, and it looks like the show may finally be trying to return to its roots. Instead of casting drunk morons who do nothing but drink, have sex, fight, and talk about drinking, having sex, and fighting, the show is actually looking for people with “goals.”

This groundbreaking, shocking news is explained on Bunim-Murray’s casting web site, which has a “Special Note”:

For Real World’s upcoming 20th season, we are searching for cast members with career and life goals that they want to pursue in a major metropolitan city.

Aspiring actors, models, dancers, filmmakers, musicians, athletes, artists, journalists, stylists, and fashion designers are particularly encouraged to apply, as well anyone else with interesting career goals and a passion to succeed.

People ages 18 to 24 can apply until March 26. The MM Agency notes on its blog that “MTV is only contracted for 20 seasons” so far, so perhaps the show is trying to reclaim some of its dignity before being cancelled—or maybe a return to its roots will encourage MTV to keep it around.
