MTV exec: no more Real World?
The director of programming at MTV, Brian Graden, says that with the glut of reality TV shows, MTV now needs to figure out what direction it’s going to take next (uh, music?). Which means that The Real World’s run will be ending—but he doesn’t say when, so we’re safe for a while. Also, he hasn’t watched Big Brother, but he says he thinks CBS’ latest reality TV show ripped off the music network’s flagship docu-drama. But that’s okay, because “it’s a medium where everybody rips everyone else off,” he says, and he’s actually surprised it didn’t happen sooner.
