Sahalhis police escort prompts investigation, admission that Housewives editing was fake
The Real Housewives of DC may be boring some fans of the franchise, but it continues to generate headlines and controversy surrounding Tareq and Michaele Salahi.
And it’s not just contained to Bravo: The Salahis are appearing on HBO’s Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel tonight at 10 p.m. ET to talk about their America’s Polo Cup charity event that is now being investigated by officials in Virginia.
Meanwhile, last week’s Real Housewives episode showed the Salahis being escorted to a party by a police car, as the Washington Post reported. A Half Yard Productions publicist told the paper, “We had someone review all of the footage from that party and the police escort for the Salahi’s limo was a Park Police escort from the K-9 unit. The MPD car featured in the episode was not the escort car and was edited into the shot incorrectly,” Bronagh Hanley said.
And by incorrectly, she means the editing altered reality.
Now, “[t]he U.S. Park Police have launched an investigation into whether any of its officers broke department regulations by providing an escort,” CNN reports. Park Police Sgt. David Schlosser told CNN affiliate WUSA, “we have not found any indication that a permit was used in this instance. If, in fact, we find that the use of this vehicle is outside the parameters then discipline will be taken.”
