Real Housewives’ A.J. killed in Atlanta
Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member Ashley “A.J.” Jewell, Kandi Burruss’ former fiance, was killed in a fight outside a strip club bar last night.
A.J. “died of massive head injuries at Piedmont Hospital” after being “fatally injured in a ‘one-on-one’ fight with Fredrick Richardson” outside the Body Tap Club, which he co-owned, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. Richardson has been charged with voluntary manslaughter and will go to jail after being released from the hospital. A police spokesperson said detectives are “trying to figure out [what happened]. We had a pretty good number of witnesses that are being cooperative.”
In a September interview, Kandi told Essence that their relationship is “on hiatus. He’s a great guy and he’s not the type to sit on his behind like a scrub, so it has nothing to do with that. Yes, he has a lot of children, and yes, I didn’t know about them all at first but I got over it because as long as you handle your responsibility and spend time with your children it’s not an issue for me.”
Today on Twitter, Kandi wrote, “im just in one of those moods where i dont wanna talk, i dont wanna b held & told its gonna b ok. i just wanna cry myself 2 sleep, alone.” She also wrote, “I could never n a million years imagine this happening. please pray for AJ’s children. that’s who im the most concerned 4.”
Bravo’s Andy Cohen wrote, “To express over twitter seems to somehow minimize the depth of emotion, but condolences and prayers to Kandi and AJ’s children.”
