Vicki may leave Real Housewives because of her husband’s embarrassment; Lauri may return

Vicki Gunvalson, one of the original Real Housewives of Orange County, may not continue with the show after its fourth season concludes, while Lauri Waring Peterson, the original housewife who left during last night’s episode, is regretting her decision.

Lauri, whose son Josh was arrested for possessing heroin last summer, said it was a “very, very, very difficult” decision and “I’ve already thought, ‘What did I do?’” she told the New York Daily News. But she said Josh’s situation helped her make that decision. “I felt that I really needed privacy. I really wasn’t allowing the production company to film my son’s situation for entertainment value. … I really feel that that’s Josh’s story,” she said.

Lauri may return to the series eventually, but says she “want[s] to do more. … There’s been so much more to my reality than what the cameras have captured. … It’s given me great opportunities. I mean, we were on ‘Oprah.’”

Meanwhile, when Vicki Gunvalson was asked by E!’s Marc Malkin if she’d be back, she said “No comment.”

Part of that is the “embarrassing” nature of having her relationship problems from last summer play on TV now. While her marriage to Don is now “amazing,” E! reports that Don “100 percent’ regrets signing up for the reality show, especially after tonight’s episode, in which Vicki complains on the show that her ‘love tank is depleted’ and she’s unsure if Don ‘can fill it up.’”

Vicki said, “He’s a vice president of a company. He has to go to work the next day, and he has people saying, ‘Wow your wife really trashed ya again last night.’ For a man, it’s horrible. All I could say to him is, ‘Honey, I love you. I’m sorry. Let’s get past it.’ And he was like, ‘You should have thought about that when you were blabbing about your stupid love tank.’”

One other source of conflict on the new season is Gretchen Rossi, the newest housewife who doesn’t really like Vicki. However, last weekend at KIIS-FM’s Jingle Ball concert, Vicki said, “We hugged each other and I said, ‘Let’s move on; we’re big girls.’ She agreed.”
