An NBC exec told his staff that he wants something “different in a significant and meaningful way”—which is how he described The Osbournes—for NBC. In The New York Times’ report on the show, the paper reveals that “[t]he family members were allowed to screen rough cuts and remove anything they found embarrassing.”
