Former Extra anchor Jon Kelley will host The Mole 3, which may debut in late May
The host for ABC’s upcoming summer revival of The Mole 3 will be Jon Kelley. He replaces Anderson Cooper, who hosted the first two regular editions of the show, and Ahmad Rashad, who hosted the two celebrity editions.
Kelley is “a former weekend anchor for ‘Extra’” and former “lead anchor for Fox Sports Net’s ‘The National Sports Report’ and ‘Baseball Today,’ Variety reports. Extra’s bio of him says he also worked as a sports anchor in Chicago and “played four seasons as a running back for the University of Nebraska before graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in broadcast journalism. He signed as a free agent with the Denver Broncos in 1988 before embarking on a broadcasting career.
Although the network has yet to announce its schedule, Variety says “[i]t’s believed ABC is planning to air the new ‘Mole’ Mondays at 10 p.m., starting May 26,” and it “will likely be paired with another Alphabet reality revival, ‘The Bachelorette,’ which is being eyed for a possible May 19 debut.”
