Spike renews The Joe Schmo Show.
Spike TV has ordered 10 hours of a second Joe Schmo Show season. There’s no debut date yet nor official word of the format, but according to Variety, “Insiders say season two parodies a different genre of reality TV.” So many possibilities! But wouldn’t it be great if the second season parodied the first? The “Joe Schmo” would be an actor who thought s/he was deceiving a schmo, but that person would actually be an actor pretending to be a real guy, just like the actor thought s/he was doing. We’d need flow charts to keep track of who was who, but it’d be fun. Besides, parodying The Real World is like shooting former cast members at a Challenge: way too easy, and kind of sad.
