Heidi Montag on Lauren Conrad: “We don’t need her” on The Hills
The Hills’ fifth and (maybe) final season debuts on Monday, and Heidi Montag has weighed in about what Lauren Conrad’s exit means for the show. Her response: Lauren’s departure will be insignificant.
“‘The Hills’ hasn’t even really begun, yet I think this is just the beginning. We don’t need her. We’ll miss her. I just don’t know if we need her,” Heidi told MTV News. “I’m not surprised she’s leaving. I know she hasn’t been wanting to be do this for a while, and [the life she really leads] is not on camera. So I think it’s a closing chapter for her. I’m sure she’ll have fun and success. She’s gotta leave the dramas to the pros!”
In other words, Heidi desperately hopes that Lauren’s exit won’t mean the end of her run on The Hills, which she sounds desperate to keep alive—perhaps because she knows there’s probably very little chance MTV will give her and Spencer their own series. Such a series would be way too classy for MTV and would have to air on VH1.
