ArchivesThe Hills star Whitney Port will get her own, long-rumored series early next year when MTV debuts The City, a pretty undescriptive title. The network officially announced the spin-off today.
The new series will follow Whitney as she moves from L.A. to New York and starts working for Diane Von Furstenberg. In her press release quote, Whitney said, “I am thrilled and honored to be in New York City. Not only working for one of the most renowned fashion designers, Diane Von Furstenberg, but to be able to mature as a young woman both professionally and personally.”
MTV started overstating the drama already in its press release, saying that she “is taking a huge chance at a brand new life. Surrounded by all new friends, pursuing a fresh love life, and starting to work in the upper echelon of the fashion industry is a lot to navigate for a new girl in the big city … especially one who has everything to lose. In a city full of people with their own agendas, Whitney will have to quickly decide who she can trust and who to stay away from.”
