ArchivesPhotos of The Hills producers and cast members faking a scene at LAX released Wednesday were not evidence that the series is fiction, according to MTV.
“It was a pickup shot that in no way affected the storyline,” an MTV spokesperson told the New York Post. Of course, actual unscripted shows don’t ask their casts to act, but the spokesperson suggested this was common practice: “This is no different from any other reality show.”
She said that Heidi’s “last-minute trip” actually occurred last month, the weekend of Sept. 28, and the producers “put the trip into context” by having Heidi and Spencer recreate the airport scenes last Friday.
