ArchivesMTV is planning to really milk the finale of The Hills, its biggest and perhaps most fake series, when it concludes its third season a week from Monday. Among other things, the network will fly in 40 of the show’s fans to hang out with the cast, and air more than four hours of peripheral content in addition to the actual finale.
The finale will be just 30 minutes, but MTV will air a two-hour live pre-show and a half-hour post-show episode. And the day before, on Sunday at noon ET, MTV will air The Hills: Lauren Looks Back, a two-hour special that follows Lauren’s journey as a reality show star.
The network is currently searching for “40 Hills devotees from the U.S. and Canada as a part of ‘The Hills Biggest Fan Contest,’” MTV said in a press release. Fans can enter online until Dec. 3. The winners will get “an opportunity to get up close and personal with the cast like never before,” which sounds a lot kinkier than it probably is. After all, besides Heidi, who wants to get close to Spencer?
