Contender 2 finale tickets on sale today; 70 percent of its growing audience is 18 to 49
After debuting with what Variety calls “OK” ratings for a cable network, ESPN’s The Contender 2’s ratings “[have] risen in each of the three subsequent weeks.”
Last Wednesday, 1.88 million viewers watched on Tuesday. “Even more significant,” Variety notes, “1.32 million of that total were people 18 to 49, a gaudy 70%.” Despite that, “ESPN hasn’t yet announced a pickup for a third season.”
Tickets for the Sept. 26 finale fight go on sale tonight at 8 PT (although American Express cardholders can buy already); Ticketmaster lists seats at between $35 and $500.
