Stallone doubts Contender 2 will happen.
One of the executive producers and hosts of The Contender has expressed doubt that the show will survive past this first season, and he blames NBC. Sylvester Stallone said, “I don’t think The Contender’s gonna be back. We had a very bizarre time slot.” This past Sunday, the show came in fourth place in its time slot, according to Variety; it was watched by 6.1 million viewers. By comparison, 14.8 million watched Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.
