It may be the most expensive reality series ever produced at $2 million an episode, but The Contender will easily recoup its costs. Television Week reports that “Toyota Motor Corp. and Nike are close to major deals” for sponsorships that are “priced at $8 million to $10 million per episode.” Overall, the show “is aiming to pull in three or four major advertisers who will buy two to three spots in each show of its 16-episode run.”
