Celebrity Apprentice episode dedicated to crew member D’Marco Ray, who died of cancer

The third episode of The Celebrity Apprentice 3 concluded with a title card saying the episode was “in memory” of D’Marco Ray, who worked in the sound department of several shows, including the third Celebrity Apprentice season, and died earlier this year of kidney cancer.

A USC in-memoriam piece says D’Marco Ray Smith died “February 1, following a long battle with cancer.” An online memorial to him says that he was “diagnosed with kidney cancer in April 2008” and that his wife, Kristal, is pregnant and they “are expecting their first child June 4, 2010.”

The USC story details his career, noting that he “worked in a variety of key roles in the sound department on productions such as Project Runway: All Star Challenge and The Apprentice, as well as numerous independent films.” He also did work on PBS’ Texas Ranch House, according to IMDB. In the credits for the current season of The Celebrity Apprentice, he’s listed in the credits under “audio.”
