ArchivesThe ongoing saga of The Apprentice’s possible renewal for a seventh season has another week to unfold. While today was NBC’s deadline for deciding whether or not it wanted to dump the show,
NBC Universal’s Ben Silverman, who was hired just this week, “has a long-standing relationship with Burnett. Within 48 hours of Silverman getting his gig, Burnett hooked up Silverman and Trump via telephone to discuss the possibility of continuing ‘The Apprentice,’” Variety reports.
As a result of those talks, NBC has an additional week to pick up the show, and Trump sounds optimistic, at least about Silverman, who “really impressed” Trump. “I can see this guy is gonna be a star,” Trump told Variety.
However, Trump said that “two other networks have said they want” the show, so he’s clearly not committed to NBC.
