Production on The Apprentice 6 has not yet begun in LA, but NBC has renewed the show already for a seventh season.
Donald Trump told Variety, “NBC called me and said they are picking up No. 7. We may do it in Las Vegas or Miami … We’ll make that decision in the next two months.” Most likely,
The Apprentice 7 “wouldn’t air until 2008,” according to Variety, as NBC has already shifted the sixth season’s debut to January, thus moving the show to a once-a-year schedule.
Variety couldn’t get NBC to confirm or deny the pick-up, but notes that “[r]atings … fell significantly during the most recent season, though the skein remains one of NBC’s top-rated shows, particularly among upscale auds.” Trump, however, continues to blame Martha Stewart for the show’s woes, rather than, like, the tired rut that the series has fallen into.
