Tuesday’s episode of The Biggest Loser 2 was NBC’s most-watched show in its timeslot in almost a year. The episode was watched by 10.15 million viewers, earning “the net’s best scores in the 8 o’clock hour in 10 months and closing the demo gap with CBS’ strong ‘NCIS’,” as Variety reports.
Perhaps as a result of the strong ratings, the network is apparently renewing the series. First, NBC is continuing to cast for families “who want to tackle their weightloss goals as a team.” That’s clearly for the one-off spin-off series, which has yet to air.
But they’re also looking for Biggest Loser 3 candidates. The show’s web site offers the chance to apply for a third season, saying, “The biggest phenomenon in reality television is back!”
Oh, the hysterical pun. Biggest! Get it? Ha! Big! Because they’re fat! Fat people! Who are big! Hi-oh!
