Biggest Loser, Nanny 911 get renewed.
FOX and ABC are each renewing their hit fall reality TV shows. NBC’s The Biggest Loser, which airs its fifth episode tomorrow, is getting both a renewal and an additional episode order. Two 90-minute “episodes have logged more than 10 million viewers and decent ratings in the network’s target audience of adults 18-49. The final half-hour of Tuesday’s (Nov. 16) episode scored a 5.6 rating in the demographic, topping the premiere of The Amazing Race on CBS,” Zap2it.com reports. Now, at least 10, and possibly 11, episodes will air. And open casting calls for a second season of the show begin in December. Over on FOX, Nanny 911, in which Mary Poppins clones come in to bring the smack down on undisciplined brats, is being extended. FOX “has ordered eight additional episodes” of the series, according to Reuters. The show’s “18-49 rating is over 40 percent higher than the show that it comes after, the sitcom Quintuplets. It has also recently out did ABC’s hit Reality show The Bachelor during the same period,” NAMC reports.
