ArchivesThe Bachelorette has always given a reject from The Bachelor an opportunity to find her own partner. However, the network is now casting for a woman to front The Bachelorette 5, which suggests it may star a previously unknown woman.
The casting notice says producers want a woman between the ages of 25 to 32 “who is beautiful, charming, educated, successful and looking to settle down.” That last part appears to be code for “ready to start squeezing out babies and baking cookies,” while two of the five are about appearance, so as usual, The Bachelorette keeps feminism’s flag flying—never mind the part that asks, “will the man she chooses accept her rose, and if he does will he pop the question?”
The casting continues through late November. And producers are always perpetually searching for the men and women who will date the shows’ stars.
