Bachelorette returns with DeAnna Pappas, who is “actually very happy” that Brad dumped her
Tonight, ABC resurrects The Bachelorette for a fourth season after a three-year absence. DeAnna Pappas, one of the finalists on The Bachelor 11, will have her pick of suitors starting at 9 p.m. ET. Her now-engaged fellow Brad rejectee Jenni will also show up to help out. Will DeAnna have success like first bachelorette Trista Rehn did? Or will her relationship go the way of basically every other one the show has ever produced?
This season, the 25 men will live in “an unspectacular bunkhouse,” according to ABC, while DeAnna lives alone in the mansion, although she’ll invite “three different trios of lucky bachelors” to live there with her at certain times.
DeAnna was happy with that twist. “I was so excited that I got that option, because early on in the show everybody’s No. 1 complaint is, ‘I didn’t get enough time to get to know her.’ But with this, if you were one of the three guys living in the house, if you didn’t take the time to get to know me, then that was your own fault,” she told reporters, according to The New York Daily News.
As to the fact that she even needs her own show, DeAnna says that while she was initially upset over Brad’s decision, she’s ultimately glad he made it. “I was really confused when it happened, but after it was all over, said and done with, I was actually very happy that Brad stood up for what he believed in and didn’t propose to someone just because he was under pressure. Everything happens for a reason, and I’m where I am today because of all of it,” she said.
