low ratings for Bachelorette 3 debut; more on Fabrice’s sexual orientation.
The evidence is mounting that The Bachelorette 3 might turn the rose ceremony into a coming-out ceremony. Following up on TVgasm’s report that bachelor Fabrice might be gay, E! says that has “unleashed a frenzy of investigation into the reality contestant’s background.” Among the revelations: a shirtless photo of Fabrice on ChicagoPride.com and his profile at bigmuscle.com. Add all that to the previews that show Fabrice has a surprise confession to make, and, well, he’s probably not going to pull of his face and reveal himself to be Andrew Firestone. But whatever happens, it can only help the show: Its first episode last Monday drew 9.2 million viewers, which is “significantly down from the 2004 edition of The Bachelorette, which averaged 11.6 million viewers.” That also left The Bachelorette 3 in fourth place among the networks. Maybe it’s time to find some new faces instead of recycling the old, or maybe it’s just time to drag this series into an alley and finish it off humanely.
