Meredith Phillips and her new man will make their first appearance as a couple live on The Bachelorette 2’s After the Final Rose special. This comes amid moves to end live TV altogether because of the shattering effects of the Super Bowl halftime show. ABC’s Andrea Wong tells TV Week that ABC decided to shun conventional wisdom because, well, they’re ABC and they’re insane: “We talked about it and decided to do it well before all the flak of this week. It will be on a delay anyway, and historically we haven’t had a problem with shows like this.” She adds, “The live element brings an excitement and immediacy to every show that you do live. The viewer knows that they are getting complete, unfiltered honest reactions that are completely unedited.” In other words, get ready for Chris Harrison to flash some nipple. Four men remain with two episodes to go, with the finale airing Feb. 25 and the special airing Thursday, Feb. 26, at 8 p.m. ET.
