Bachelor producer wants the Pope to appear on the show
It’s bad enough that the producers of The Bachelor continue to subject us to season after season of this aging franchise.
Executive producer Mike Fleiss said he’s “really trying to get the Pope to be on the show.” Surprisingly, Fleiss has “not yet” heard from the Pope, he says, but he still wants to infuse his show with a dose of Catholicism. “We’ll sneak the cameras into Vatican Square. We’ll do something,” he said.
According to the New York Post, “Fleiss envisioned his newest bachelor, Prince Lorenzo Borghese, 34, being granted an audience with the Pope before handed out his final rose.” Although Lorenzo Borghese now runs a cosmetics company for pets, he “has a Pope and a cardinal in his family tree: Pope Paul V (Camillo Borghese) and Cardinal Scipiore Borghese,” the paper reports.
Thus, Fleiss became delusional, wondering, “Wouldn’t it be cool to see the Pope praying with the bachelor and giving him guidance to make the right decision?” Actually, what would be cool would be the Pope smiting you on national television for just asking.
