ArchivesABC is bringing back The Bachelor for a ninth season, and following last season’s trek to Paris, will move the show to Rome, Italy.
That announcement negates an earlier report that the show would film in Hawaii, although at that time, the star hadn’t yet been selected. The show’s new lead is Prince Lorenzo Borghese, an Italian prince (hence the “Prince” in front of his name; he’s not just the son of a celebrity couple that wanted to damage him with a stupid name). His selection apparently made filming in Rome a no-brainer.
The show will air this fall in its regular Monday at 9 p.m. ET timeslot.
Borghese is “the 33-year-old heir to the Borghese cosmetics empire,” according to Women’s Wear Daily, who also “founded Royal Treatment Pet Care in ‘loving memory of Belle, my black lab, who lost her battle with cancer on April 14, 2005,’ he says on the Web site, getroyaltreatment.com.” That site, by the way, offers “Skin care for pets formulated in Tuscany, Italy. Because every pet deserves the royal treatment.” Every pet and every Bachelor contestant.
