We don’t give ABC credit for much, since the network is generally incompetent, but we have to give mad props to their promotion of The Bachelor 5 After the Final Rose special. Defamer guessed that the camera phone pictures sent to reality blurred were the work of a “crafty publicist,” and that’s a good guess considering the show last night featured no live studio audience (just some clapping production people during the credits). Plus, the link showed up on message boards and elsewhere. Additionally, ABC’s press releases about the show’s confrontational moments were picked up as scoops by the media (including us). Naturally, though, they hype wasn’t as good as the reality: Tara walked off the set and then came right back, and the exchange about Jessica and Tara’s alien babies was completely edited out of the broadcast. ABC, you tease.
