Bachelor 14 finalist Gia has died
Bachelor season 14 finalist and Bachelor Pad contestant Gia Allemand has died. She was 29.
Gia was hospitalized monday in New Orleans, and her publicist released a statement yesterday that said she suffered “a serious emergency medical event” and was “in critical condition”; it said her mother and “her long-term boyfriend, NBA basketball player Ryan Anderson of the New Orleans Pelicans,” were with her.
She last tweeted on Sunday, quoting Proverbs 21:3: “Doing what is right and fair pleases The Lord more than an offering.” She also posted a photo to Instagram with this quotation: “legend says, when you can’t sleep at night, it’s because you’re awake in someone else’s dream.”
Update: A statement on behalf of the family says Gia:
“was found by her boyfriend, NBA Basketball Player Ryan Anderson, following an apparent suicide attempt. Due to a critical loss of brain and organ function, life support was withdrawn today.”
Second update: Gia hanged herself Monday and was found unconscious by Ryan Anderson, TMZ reported.
