Chris Harrison: “We do not, and have not, decided the ending of any” Bachelor
Bachelor host Chris Harrison denies that the producers of the show constructed this season’s shocking ending, as a blogger has claimed. Harrison also writes that the second After the Final Rose special has not yet been taped.
“[W]e are not responsible for, nor have we ever scripted, the ending of this show. Let me re-type this slowly so all of you can read this: We do not, and have not, decided the ending of any of our seasons. Let’s be honest, if we did don’t you think we would do a better job and have a much higher success rate?” he wrote on his EW blog. (The blogger who claimed that the ending was “fabricated” did admit that’s something he “can’t prove.”)
Chris Harrison also adds, “The beauty of what Mike Fleiss created is that this is not a game show nor is it a scripted soap opera. There’s nothing waiting at the end of this show but the reality of the decisions the people on it have made. It sounds so simple and it is. That to me is why it’s so damn good and also why all the other knock-off shows haven’t worked.”
Chris does not mention the veracity of the spoiler, which reveals something that happens during the first reunion. However, Chris does talk about the two reunions that will air next week—one after the finale Monday, one on Tuesday—and says the second is not just an extension of the first special: “We have not shot the second ‘After the Final Rose’ special yet! I gotta be honest. It’s going to be really hard to go back and edit a show we haven’t even shot yet.”
