ArchivesBachelor 12 Matt Grant has moved out of Shayne Lamas’ house into his own condo in California, although he insists they’re still together.
“I had to get my own life out here (in L.A.). Get my career and friends and have my own circle. That’s important in a relationship. That you are not entirely on top of someone,” he told People. “Early on in the relationship, people need a little space. It’s almost to keep the spark — the romance — that exists in the first year of a relationship. Living together after knowing one another after four months is probably a little bit quick. Certainly for our generation.”
Either this is a very healthy relationship, perhaps the healthiest in the show’s history—or these are flimsy excuses that will seem very transparent when they break up. In any case, after joking about getting married earlier this month, he says that they have had “a difficult time” but he “made the right decision,” and is still in love with her. “I wouldn’t be engaged if I wasn’t,” he told the magazine.
