Bachelor 10 Andy Baldwin: “I’m totally in love”

ABC’s 10th Bachelor star says that he found his significant other on the reality series. “I came out with an amazing woman and I’m totally in love,” he told reporters yesterday, according to the New York Daily News’ account.

Not to be cynical, but how many times have we heard that before? How long until we read reports of them seeing other people? The show’s executive producer, Mike Fleiss, tried to blame the show’s track record on its previous bachelors, most of whom were famewhores, apparently.

“Andy came into this with real sincerity and that’s something that we haven’t had from all of our bachelors, unfortunately,” he said, adding that the new guy is not a loser, unlike the people he cast in the past. “Andy’s a real guy who’s accomplished real things on his own in his life. … so many of our other bachelors were the product of their father’s largess and given something or inherited something.”

Fleiss said that over 12 seasons, including the three Bachelorettes, there are three surviving couples: Charlie O’Connell and Sarah Brice, Byron Velvick and Mary Delgado, and Trista Rehn and Ryan Sutter, who got married on TV.
