“When the fantasy wore off and the reality set in, we both realized that we weren’t ready to be engaged. We’re taking things much slower,” Andy told In Touch. The magazine adds that “the relationship is still on, but social worker Tessa has postponed plans to move from San Francisco to Hawaii.”
In a statement sent to People magazine, the couple says, “We are very much in love and committed to our relationship. With the possibility of reassignment to a new location, we decided it was not the ideal time for Tessa to uproot herself and move out [to Hawaii] right now. Our relationship continues to deepen, and we’re very hopeful about our future together.”
And 10 cynical cents say that future is a statement asking us to respect their privacy during the difficult time following their breakup.
In its August 6 edition, according to Reality TV World, In Touch magazine reported that the couple was planning their wedding. An anonymous friend said, “They are planning a wedding. … Andy got down on one knee and gave her a traditional Hawaiian gold ring. On the show, Andy gave Tessa a stunning, $50,000 Chopard diamond engagement ring paid for by the network, but it wasn’t as meaningful to her as this ring.”
