Mark Burnett wasn’t happy with NBC’s decision to move Martha’s time slot, even though the move ultimately resulted in slightly higher ratings for The Apprentice: Martha Stewart.
Earlier in the week, he told the LA Times, “Now we’ll have ‘E-Ring’ leading into ‘Martha,’ which isn’t a good lead-in. … Clearly the move is designed to save ‘E-Ring.’” But yesterday he was somewhat placated: “Despite very few promos [the program] showed decent growth.”
Why has the show done so poorly? “Maybe there was too much press. It was, like, everywhere,” Burnett says. All of this “behind-the-scenes jockeying over Stewart’s troubled spinoff has sparked friction between the network and famed “Apprentice” producer Mark Burnett,” the Times reports.
But Burnett says he’s cool: “I’m not mad. It’s just business.” Oh, that clever bastard, using the tag line from Trump’s Apprentice.
