Cast member once dated the son of Martha’s Apprentice adviser
One of the contestants on The Apprentice: Martha Stewart once dated the son of one of Martha Stewart’s two advisers. Bethenny Frankel “dated Brian Koppelman, whose father, Charles Koppelman … is chairman of Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia” and is one of Martha Stewart’s two advisers, the New York Post reports. He’s filling the George role.
According to the paper’s source, “Charles Koppelman first learned that Frankel would be a contestant five days before shooting began, said a source on the set.” But she remained as a contestant.
The Post gets excited and calls Charles Koppelman a “judge” who “help[s] decide who gets fired.” But seriously, if Martha’s edition is like Trump’s version, the right- and left-hand advisers will be more like rubber stamps, not decision-makers. And the final decision has always been Trump’s, not his advisers’, and the same is presumably true for Martha’s edition as well.
The paper also uses the word “rig” in quotes in the headline, although that word does not appear in any quotation, nor anywhere in the article. And thus we see how a tabloid constructs a scandal even when one does not yet exist.
A Mark Burnett Productions spokesperson told the paper, “The situation is dealt with in the first few minutes of Episode 1. Viewers will have to tune in to see what happens.”
