Regular Apprentice will air Thursdays this fall

The return of the non-celebrity Apprentice will air Thursdays at 10 p.m. this fall. In that timeslot, where it replaces the scripted drama Love Bites, it will compete against The Mentalist and Private Practice.

An NBC press release calls this “an updated version” and says the new season “just finished shooting this week in New York City”—which is interesting, because there are usually sightings in New York of the cast, and I didn’t see any this time.

The seventh regular-person Apprentice, which will have 16 candidates and tries to use the recession as its theme, “will run 15 hours over 13 weeks,” Variety reports. That means it will only have hour-long episodes except for two episodes, likely the premiere and finale, or perhaps a crazy three-hour finale.

Because CBS moved Survivor to Wednesdays, that left Thursdays without any network reality TV, but now we have another Mark Burnett series kicking off the end of the week—or making it seem like the next day should be Monday, since we’re used to Donald Trump on Sunday nights.
