Apprentice 6’s Surya Yalamanchili running for Congress in Cincinnati

Surya Yalamanchili, who was on The Apprentice 6 and fired by Donald Trump midseason, is running for Congress in Ohio’s second district. He faces a Republican incumbent who has a challenger, plus a Democratic candidate.

He’s running as an independent and linked his candidacy to his appearance on the show, which is probably a good idea since I didn’t recognize him by his name alone (though his photo looks familiar).

“These shows are all about posturing and playing gotcha and backstabbing and being incredibly opportunistic to get what you want. If that doesn’t describe the modus operandi of the Republican and Democratic parties in Washington, I don’t know what does,” he said, according to The Plain Dealer.

Surya worked for LinkedIn after appearing on the L.A. season of the show, and his campaign web site, votechili.com, includes links to his Facebook page (331 fans) and Twitter account (45 followers).
