pottery store wants Donald Trump to stop trying to trademark “you’re fired.”
A suburban Chicago pottery store with a cutesy name is challenging Donald Trump’s attempt to trademark his Apprentice tagline. You’re Fired pottery store owner Susan Brenner says, “Every person who walks into store now says ‘Oh you’re copying Donald Trump.’ And I say ‘No, he’s copying me.’” And I say: What sort of dimwit assclown customers can’t tell the difference between a tagline on a TV show and a store? As her lawyer puts it, “People are associating her with Donald Trump and want to know why she’s using his mark. All the money she spent on advertising, all that good will will be taken away from her.” The lawyer is “drafting a letter to Trump seeking to halt his trademark plans,” according to the Chicago Tribune.
