Apprentice finale may air live, while supersized eps will start during Survivor.
Donald Trump wants the April finale of The Apprentice to air live from his Taj Mahal casino in Atlantic City. NBC confirms the two-hour finale, but says the live shoot from AC is “not a done deal yet,” the Press of Atlantic City reports. Meanwhile, NBC is sharpening its claws in preparation for Survivor All-Stars, which will air on CBS in its normal 8 p.m. ET time slot. Variety reports that “NBC plans to supersize” The Apprentice on Feb. 5 and 12, starting the show at 8:45 p.m. That’s when Jeff Probst will just be getting warmed up, grilling the all-stars at Tribal Council. Variety says that “the supersize material will be original content, though one insider noted viewers will have no problem jumping into the show at 9 p.m., should they choose to watch the end of ‘Survivor.’” Aw, that’s nice of them. It was also nice of them to “[violate] the spirit of that deal” they had with Mark Burnett to not have the two shows compete. Apparently, the deal wasn’t contractual; “NBC insiders said the producer has been briefed on the plan and understands the reasoning behind the move.”
