The Apprentice debuts tonight.
Mark Burnett and Donald Trump team up for The Apprentice, which debuts tonight at 8:30 p.m. ET on NBC. Over 15 episodes, teams—separated by sex—will live together and compete in business-related challenges. Tonight’s challenge involves opening a lemonade stand on Wall Street. If they fail, Donald will fire one member of their team. Trump tells the Washington Post he was impressed: “It’s amazing what they could accomplish.” Slate’s Dennis Cass says that the New York location is a star: “never has a reality show feasted on the city’s sights and sounds as gleefully.” The New York Times says the show includes “ragged, unpleasant frictions that made reality shows like MTV’s Real World and CBS’s Survivor so popular in the first place.”
