reporter who rented Apprentice apartment says she first rejected the place.
As reported earlier this week, The Apprentice, the woman who rented the apartment from Troy’s team “had previously arranged to rent the pad at a lower price, but played along when the show’s producers asked her to sign a lease at a 27 percent mark-up.” But Page Six left out the nuances of her story (surprise). As Off on a Tangent noticed, she tells her story in the Staten Island Advance. Although during the episode Deborah Young showed up minutes before 5, she actually visited earlier in the day but “left without submitting a bid to the eager entrepreneurs.” Later, she “ran into Team Protege on the street and they told me the apartment could be mine—if I went with the markup—I decided to play along.” And “the landlord promised he’d make good on the original price.” Thus, she got the apartment for the prince minus the mark-up.
