ArchivesThe person responsible for creating The Amazing Race has been promoted. Elise Doganieri, whose husband Bertram van Munster serves as executive producer of the show, is now also an executive producer.
As Variety reports, “Doganieri had previously been supervising producer and, before that, producer on the show.” Since she came up with the idea for the show after her husband challenged her to create a show in five minutes, and since she’s responsible for planning half of each season’s route, it seems only fair that she share the executive producer title.
Variety also notes that the series, which debuted four years ago, “will hit its 100th episode mark sometime this fall.” Doganieri said she “look[s] forward to creating another 100 shows.”
