Meredith: Amazing Race “wasn’t a totally level playing field” because of Rob, Amber.
In their post-elimination interview with TV Guide, Meredith and Gretchen confirm what Romber haters have thought all along about their effect on the race: “it wasn’t a totally level playing field.” Meredith says, “People recognized him and Amber throughout the race and were falling over themselves to offer them a hand. You saw his character on Survivor and he was no different in this game.” She says that, specifically, Rob is “a very manipulative guy and it came out on the race. I think viewers will make their own judgment as to how he played the game.”
