Rob quits roadblock task, finds “a way to plot and scheme in The Amazing Race.”
Faced with eating four pounds of cooked animal products as an Amazing Race 7 roadblock task in Argentina, Survivor’s Rob decided to quit. “I didn’t want to eat, but I still wanted to stay in the race. When you quit at a task in The Amazing Race, you have only one choice, and that’s to take a four-hour penalty from the time that the next team arrives at the task.” Rob quit, and their four-hour penalty began when Rob and Deana arrived. He then convinced Deana to quit. As Rob said, “As soon as I hooked Ray and Deana, I was guaranteed not to be eliminated. Guaranteed.” Lynn and Alex, who actually completed the roadblock, came in first place. And despite their penalty, Rob and Amber’s plan worked, and they arrived in fifth place. Rob said, “I didn’t think I could do it, but I found a way to plot and scheme in The Amazing Race.” Instead of spitting on their feet, a shocked but grinning Phil said, “It’s kind of unprecedented. There are teams at that roadblock not moving because you convinced them not to move.”
